The Pit

The Pita Pit that is! Down in the dumps stop through the Pita Pit for a pick me up.
1601 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
and you can order online and they deliver check the website

My homie Rachel works at The Pita Pit, i think she makes an pretty awesome Pita. She'll suggest the buffalo chicken - because she loves hot sauce on ev-er-y-thang! But if you don't like spicy they have plenty of other toppings. Its a chill atmosphere and they may even play your fav Pandora station if your nice to them. And don't forget to hit the tip jar if you like your service: I always make it rain when I come in that place.

'Vice for Veggie Growers

Saw this blog about growing perennial vegetables. I thought only flowers could be perennial.

This is what dictionary.com has to say on the matter :

perennial –adjective

1.
lasting for an indefinitely long time; enduring: her perennialbeauty.
2.
(of plants) having a life cycle lasting more than two years.
3.
lasting or continuing throughout the entire year, as astream.
4.
perpetual; everlasting; continuing; recurrent.

The most important meal of the day...well @ least on Saturdays

Saturdays are the only mornings I really have time to wake up and fix breakfast, any other day its grab what you can and go - more  like run out da door
This weekend I woke to a pleasant surprise before I could even hit the kitchen light my roomie walks through the door and surprises me with a breakfast sandwich from Dunkin' Donuts! A bacon egg + cheese biscuit - how did she know? Well you see she's the best! She knows breakfast is the most important meal of the day, at least on Saturdays.

Yeah that's right Fresh For Me

Food Trucks better then Drive Thrus

It's not that woman holding up traffic trying to drive and eat her bagel + hold her cup of coffee.
Food trucks are definitely a Philadelphia staple right next to cheesesteaks and soft pretzels.
Philly is to food trucks as New York is hotdog stands, except they're not on every corner and have better variety. They are trucks probably because of this little thing called the PPA, and if you've ever heard of the TV show Philly Parking Wars you know parking + tickets it aint no joke (well kinda the show is pretty funny, + watching pissed off people argue check it ). So the easy mobility factor is a plus, and if the crowd is slow on one area you just move to another.

But here are a couple Food Trucks that I love, if you can't find them in the city stalk them .... I mean follow them on twitter, but they usually have a schedule of routine spots.

Buttercream Cup Cake Truck

For the past month every Friday she has been @20th St and Cherry which happens to be right around the corner from my school!!!! So my Friday class usually takes a mini field trip for cup cakes. I've had the  red velvet with cream cheese icing, chocolate chocolate ganache,  chocolate with peanut butter icing, and lemon with strawberry with icing <----- like biting into springtime  mmmm mater of fact today is Friday.... maybe I'll try a new one some time they have special flavors and when they test new flavors they're cheaper

I've seen this truck its over in crazy bright colors visually simulating hopefully satisfying to my taste buds - its on my list of things to do. I've seen it before all the way across the parkway and the bright graffiti caught my eye and blew my mind but I had no clue what it was until I read about it in Philadelphia City Paper - and I couldn't run across 4 lanes of The Parkway traffic to get to it although I wanted too, but I like living. Now that I know there a taco truck that looks this cool I'm definitely follow it - on twitter that is not on foot.

Spring Break

I went  home to Baltimore for spring break. And thanks to Lent every restaurant and fast food place is pushing sea food, since "good christians" don't eat red meat during lent. SO I been craving some good sea food and Maryland is def a good place for that. I hit up G&M's with my momma and we got some scallops and some crab cakes. The best eva.
G&M's is the best. You know its good cus its always crowded. I  mean always. good thing they have a carry out.

Ethiopian Food

Recently tried Ethiopian food at Zed's in Washington DC Georgetown Area, with my Aunt & Mom for the first time. In true fashion my Aunt chatted up the owner Zed a nice woman, and they had a wonderful conversation about what I have no clue.

Food was good, and I was full. I had Beef and collard greens (sounds similar to soul food right? not exactly the same but tasty). And my mom had chicken rice and spinach- hers was sooo good I think that was the best. My Aunt had spicy chicken with a hard boiled egg- weird. The chicken was good but I didn't do the egg.

It came family style on a big tray that sits in the middle of the table, and you can share and sample everyone's food. I think its a good example of community style eating. You eat it with your hands or you can use the flat bread to scoop it up. I only took one picture of me, and I'm not posting it. I know you really wanna see it...welll.... maybe... no its not happening. But I found some good 'ol google images thats similar to what & how we ate
